Bought some more tems on Tuesday. I got 3 of them at just over 4". Unfortunately with the new guys came a loss. I put them in with the small cichla. The 7" mono decided he wanted to try and eat the tems so I moved him in with my 10-12" pbass. They roughed him up for about 10 mins leaving him pretty scratched up with some split fins then left him alone. After a while the mono went to hide in a cave. I noticed he hadn't come out in a while and when I checked on him he was upside down. His swim bladder had gone and pretty soon later he died. I was quite upset because I'd had him almost a year.
The new tems are doing really well. They are already eating hikari gold mini pellets at 4.5" and have only been in the tank for 2 days. I'm hoping the rest will copy. I really love my baby grow out tank now. It contains 4 kelberi, 3 tems and 1 orino. Tankmates are 5 silver dollars, a datnoide and a common pleco.
