OK so the lfs i work at just got in a "dolphin". it looks loke an elephant nose and a baby whale so im 90% sure it is in the mormyrid family. it is about 7 or 8 inches long and is grey in coloring. it is not shy at all and takes bloodworms from my fingers. we are asking 45$ for it so we payed alot for it wholesale. closest thing i could come to it is http://www.umich.edu/~bio440/fieldtrips98/MORMYRID.JPG
any ideas my fellow fish heads?

also its dorsal fin extends the length of his body from his head to his tail

thanks buddy:grinno:

sounds like you're describing my beautiful fish. Its either a M. kunnume or a M. rume proboscirostris. I've never seen a live one before when I saw one in our local lfs selling just one specimen. Didn't think twice and just bought him right there and then. A very beautiful and interesting fish with a great personality to booth, not a shy type at all. Still enjoy him a lot. here is a recent pic.
