Does anyone have any info on the mosquito fish? I would like to know ore about these fish. Any info would be appreciated. Even like the scientific name (which I already know) and other things like that.
Hmmm. I know they are small livebearers native to the united states, that they love eating mosquito larvae, and that they have been introduced to a ton of locations around the world to control mosquitos. I also heard they are super easy breeders and can survive a few minutes in salt water, so they are sometimes used as marine live prey.
There are lots of smaller killifish and livebearers suited for your small tank:
Least killifish
Pygmy killifish
Bluefin killifish
Rainwater killifish
Sheepshead minnow
Diamond killifish
Mosquitofish
gambusia are usually very hardy fish, they can live in brackish water as well as fresh. They are very nippy, so that precaution must be taken if there are tankmates
