PICS PLEASE!!! :D

As far as I know it's Cladophora sp, and it's not a moss, it's algae. In Japan they are under protection, I think most balls are wild collected in northern Russia or Siberia. And they do rise to the surface due to photosinthesis and accumulating O2 bubbles. Mine does, anyway. And they need really cool water to grow, less than 20 Celsius (about 70F). But they can survive years in warmer water too.

Thanks Stas for info. I haven't seen mine rise to the top yet, do they do it them selves or do i need some to type of water motion?

I have a couple moss balls.
The only thing I can tell you is that they seem to be easy to keep and
they grow really slow.

Fun conversation starter to have in the tank.

"What the hell is that green thing"?

Cool thanks Silveraro, do i need to pull them apart to make new ones or do they grow by themselves?

when i bought them they were sold as moss balls.

Those are sweet balls!!!
They have em online at http://aquariumplant.com
I think I'ma gonna get me some of those green ballz!
Wonder what my cichlid will think...if they move a lot it will be definite entertainment for my red tiger. She stalks the lettuce in my tank before she eats it....
