moss wall?

I've never seen one of these kept long term. You will get it made, spend a couple of months getting it just right, then have a few months of it looking awesome. It all goes down hill from there... IME they just become a lot of work and messy. Good luck to you if you go for it though, even if you just get pictures for a while I think it would be worth it.

Word of advice: make sure there are NO openings fish could get stuck behind them. In the past I have lost a few finned friends due to this.

problem with riccia is you have to replant it almost monthly. most moss can be used for a moss wall. its not hard at all get some plastic mess and tie it together.

What is the pros and cons using aluminum mesh?
Do you still have to sandwish the moss with aluminum mesh or one side aluminum and one side plastic?

Many info out there on making moss wall with plastic mesh, I need some advice using aluminum mesh. aluminum mesh seem to be easy to handle since is stay flat and I am thinking you can use something other than suction cups to hold it.

I am trying to make a wall inside a 48" X 17" area with aluminum mesh.

Java moss spreads & grows across surfaces much better OUT of the water. Use a humid terrarium-type setup to make it spread over plastic mesh or wood or whatever with a nice low carpet in half the time. As soon as you put it in the water, it reverts to its aquatic form & starts growing longer "strings". It takes forever to cover a large surface like that.
