Hoplias intermedius is consider very very active.. always swim around looking for food.. very big eater with fast growth rate...
or you can try Hoplias aimara... very active as a killer..always want to attack me whenever it see me... so what type of active are you looking for?

Thanks !
I cant find any detailed information about intermedius, does he grow large ?
The tank im going to offer for this one wolf will have ~80 galons.
The ''active'' im looking for is beeing overall active fish, not only when feeding time is up. Wolf that would be easy to spot swiming around the tank.
I cant get hoplias aimara in Poland(i mean i can and i know where etc. but it'd cost over 1000$ so its like suicide right now for me) and size of the tank that i got free for wolf got only 80 galons.

Right now im closest to get erythrinus sp.peru due to its size and beeing quite known from beeing active.

Regards to you and everyone that answered in this topic.

Well get a rainbow then...
But a aimara is my dream fish last time was really super expensive compare to now... I would save up... Anyway I finally got it after afew years of waiting.
You can search in YouTube under zeroneox got afew aimara clip there

Out of H.aimara, H.Curupira, H.intermedius and H.lacerdae which would you say in a tank by itself swims the most, the most active, most personable? from what i've seen in youtube vids and read on this forum(most from what Tigrius post ands vids) the H.aimara seems the most of all three, they seem like there watching you watching them. Remind me of the raptors in jurassic park or indigo snakes. Is this so true? and if so how do the othere 3 rate compare to this species?

Lacerdae is not so active ... Only when it is hungry
It is rather a friendly giant... Can pad on it head...

Curupira is active but still can't compare to aimara....

$ to $ price on the fish . Do you think aimara is worth the price difference of Curupira. I know thats kind of a hard question to ask. do u think the curupira is close to aimara or do you think a aimara is the way to go no question about it? I'm sorry to put you on the spot but i"m torn between the two.I like aimara alot and i have the $$$ for one but my girl is gonna kill me when she finds out how much i spend on it (yes ,yes I know i'm whipped but i can admit it.) or you think the curupia for the price difference is just as close as a personality, active fish as the aimara?

Hey I'm just wondering how you've come to the conclusion.
NOT trying to be argumentative, just haven't heard this before.
(I've done a fair bit of research on active wolves before I got a fahaka puffer instead)

I also did some research on intermedius on here, with not much information.
How big do they get? What size tank?

Info is appreciated..
