Most aggresive pleco?

Agree it's a size thing. In my experience, if any one pleco is much larger than everyone else, it tends to be more aggressive. On the opposite end of spectrum, I find that smaller ones actually are more aggressive towards eachother than larger ones.

As far as the type, all are aggressive. I've had very aggressive panaques like xingus, blue eyes, and even L190s. Pesudas, tend to be evenly matched. The L185 monster I had actually was the most gentle of them all, eventho it looked the nastiest with it's spikes! If there is one type that's more consistently more aggressive towards others, I'd say L25, but just barely.

My most agressive is my large l600, could be size thing but the blue eye wont back down.

I have a 240gal community pleco tank and my two largest, L282 @ 11" and L160 @ 12" are the most passive out of all plecos ranging from 5" - 12". Sure the two largest ones push n shove once in a while but very briefly. The mid size ones in my tank are more aggressive towards one another, but i would have to say my L24 @ 8" is the most active and puts everybody in check other than the 2 big guys! I think once the hierarchy is established they become less aggressive and everybody knows their place. So it's hard to say which one is more aggressive, i think it's all in the personality of each individual and depends on circumstances.

Well, im learning a bunch here lol. I only ask because my little female bristlenose is scared of fish smaller than her, but is super defensive against the fish larger than her (displays facial burrs, charges them) and spends most of the day hanging out with the fire eel. Is being scared of things smaller than you a common trait with this type of pleco? lol

my ancistrus temmenickii male was aggressive and territorial to any fish except my juvie oscar.

Where I used to work we had 2 larger commons in our 90G show tank. They both started fighting with each other. I would guess over territory. But aside from that, I havent noticed a lot of aggression coming from plecos. I have never worked with Adonis so I cant say on that.

Every single one of them has potential to be aggressive.

I've had my L200 for 6 years now. He will kill any pleco or anything close to resembling a pleco that enters that tank. He killed a Spoonbill Whiptail Cat (Planiloricaria cryptodon) which isn't even a pleco. Soon as the lights went off he chased it around the tank. Eventually it just died from stress.

I've seen a couple big aggressive royal's that try and spike you with the pec fins when the tank is being cleaned.

I have an 18 inch snow king That beats the living snot out of just about anything i put in the tank with him. He is now in an indoor pond with lots more room. That settled him a bit but he still chases the other plecos around.

My most aggressive is an L37 Honeycomb pleco about 8" and he attacks Royals and an 13" L83 Sailfin pleco that are in his tank. In another tank I have a pretty nippy L330 Watermelon 10" that's peaceful but refuses to be moved and will get aggressive toward anything in his tank including a large Jaguar cichlid and large black belt cichlid.

You can see what he has done to the tail of the other pleco, unfortunatley this is the only place i can house him until hes a lil bigger and can go into the 240.
