How about Firemouth cichlids? They'll put on quite an aggression show for you flaring and showing attitude to one another. If you like breeding, you could start with about eight to ten small juvies, wait for a pair or two to form and remove the rest.

neets are def super aggressive but only get like 5-6in, salvinis are also aggressive and have more color and get a little larger than neets but personally i think neets are meaner by far and a pair would do well in a 50g they get awesome trailers too
overgeneralization of the year lol, there are TONS of different pike cichlids ranging from 3in to over 2ft lol
Grammodes, although it takes quite some time, can achieve upwards of 12" in length. I think this is too large for a 50 gal.
