Female Umbees DO NOT max out at 12". I know, for one, that Mel's old female was nearly as bug as his male, well over 15".
that female was prolly close to 20" cause mels male was 23" and she didnt look much smaller in their last video. sad that he lost them
they are probably around the level of Jacks and GTs but overall slightly more aggressive than those
I have no doubt, I just couldn't remember the exact size and didn't feel like finding the video on youtube, so I just played it safe saying 15"+.
for a 50 Gal i only have experience with Convicts.. If you want aggression get a breeding pair, mine even tried to attack me through the glass, and BIT me when i put my hand in the water.. badass little bastards
normals about 6, mine is coexisting with just about any of my fish even schools with the tetras and doesn't hide, may change once fully grown but not sure. i wouldn't keep a jack in a 50g, go for convicts and if you want add silver dollars, they're awesome schoolers just add 3-4 and a convict pair
