How about a gramodes? they are a mini Dovi Males look pretty cool when full grown. You could keep it in a 75 for life also.

I used to keep a giant gourami about 2 - 3', and a small 1' oscar (separately). They both enjoyed chasing fingers along the glass, though not sure if they're just playing or being really aggro. They let me stroke them without destroying my hand so I'm guessing the former.
