Dwarf pikes can be pretty nasty forgot all about them they would be nice to but they like larger tanks a 20 high is a little small a 20 long would be much better but if you could move it to a some what larger tank i would get a dwarf pike they can be pretty colorful and have plenty of attitude

can be usually they won't do to much growing they are most commonly seen around 1''-2'' and the dwarfs top out 4'' some can get 5'' which i suppose is a bit of growing some are slow growers from what i've heard I've never owned a dwarf pike
Can be Compressiceps are pretty common and pretty cheap ( around $10-$20 ) rarer species like Notophthalmus are pretty pricey Regani is a pretty atractive species which is usually some where in the midle

loli know this really doesnt matter, but i got the tank set up and i got some pics of it (suggestions?), wednesday we go get the fish (still debating Rainbow Wolf, Dwarf Pike and sa/ca cichlid), i think

Combtail gourami if you can find one there a pretty good lookin NASTY little fish are usually really aggressive a nippy but when breeding will often kill as many fish as they can ( which is usually all fish that are smaller or arn't tuff enough to survive )

I hate to bump this thread after like 3 months, but its better than making a new one.
The 20H is open again, and its going to be a low tech planted tank.
I am looking for a fish that is:
1. Predatory
2. Relatively non-aggressive
3. Less than 6" adult size
4. Will not screw-up plants
5. Can thrive in our 8.0 pH liquified limestone water
6. Owner responsive
7. Either good-looking, or horrible looking
8. Will take live foods, but will also accept dead foods
9. It doesn't have to be active, but i'd like to see it at least twice a day other than feeding

Pound for pound Gambusia are the meanest most aggressive fish of all, a ten pound gambusia would prevent humans from swimming anywhere they lived and a 100 pound gambusia could eat whales. they don't bother plants and they will be out and swimming all the time. As for responding to their owner like most fish they are what you teach them.....
