What is the most aggressive and interesting fish that i could keep in a 29 gallon tank.

I've had exodons -they're cool But not that interesting looking.

Piranha- I have.

I like the look of ghost knifes if they didn't outgrow my tank.

Define aggresive please, against feeders, each other, all other fish, you? Some of the pygmy sunnies are great, blue spot or flag pygmies will square off and defend territories and might even breed in a 29G, they nail guppies and act like thier bigger cousins but like warmer water.

heh, though not a monster fish by any means, 2 male betta's would be quick entertainment in a small tank. they almost always fight each other and they look kool when they start circlining each other with there fins and gills are all spread out. just wish they grew to a bigger size, biggest i've ever seen was a supposed wild shortfin betta which was almost 3 inches (counting the short tail fin)

Still think a few of the southern pygmy sunnies would do fine for you, Eat guppies until they are round, the blue spot tops out around 5" and is about the biggest of the pygmies. I wish I could send a pic but I'm not set up for that right now. There are several feild guides that show them, your local library probably has one. I've seen them carried by several suppliers. They are darker than most sunnies and have fine bright blue spots. they also like temps. in the same range as most tropicals.

Neetroplus nematopus. the nasty little neets. they are fire breathing turbo charged mini fighters capable of embarassing much larger fish. get a pair of those and a few other small cichlid thugs and youll be in for some entertainment
