ive kept an elong and 14 rpbs and had way more excitement out of the reds. mine were kinda skittish but not to bad and i cant see wasting a entire tank on a elong or a rhom that grows 1 inch per year. ive owned 5 rbps that i thought werent fun at all but once u get them in large numbers i liked them alot. my buddy had 3 and i sold him my 14 so he has 17 and loves them. thats my 2 cents anyway

I've kept spilos, rhombeus & natteri the rhombs. where crazy once they hit 7 inches. I want an elongatus & brandti I heard these were hype also. When the time, space, & funds allow I'll get them. My old rhomb at 5 inches gunned a school of 3 natteri around 5-6 inches but was punked by a pr. of dempseys 4 & 6in . It is all the individual fish but give it time to get used to its' surroundings.

My reds tore **** up once they started breeding. The male would chase anything that moved. If my curtians blew in the wind he would flip a **** and go biting at the glass. The rhom I just got is a pussy though he hides behind driftwood all day but I will give him time and hopes he comes around like my reds did.

Out of all the Piranhas i have dealt with, I would have to say that its a toss up between the S.Sanchezi, S.Elongatus, and Gold Spilo. All three are very aggressive, but IMO the sanchezi and spilo have more character, but if you throw something in an elongs tank it will be gone faster in a blink of an eye. But don't give up on your Altuvie. The comfort of your fish is a big factor give it a lttle more time. Heres another thing that might make you no give up so quickly, my exporter told me that Altuvies, Gold Spilos, and Brandti are feared by the natives in South America, because they are known to attack people in the wild.:headbang2

I have had my three 4 inch rb for about 3 months now and was given them to me by a friend that didnt want them any more and the pet stores would not tanke them . well my problem is that they stopped eating ! i have put a couple convicts in there just to see if they would eat them if they would not eat the food i bought for them. but nothing . anyone have a answer to why this mite be ?

The two most aggressive fish that i have ever kept were the peruivan Black Romb and a Serr. Gibbus otherwise known as a "gold". Both were true bastard fish....killed numerous tank mates over night. I mean they wouild have like 40 or 50 feeders in the tank and 150 gallons to work with and still pick on the reds or other smaller black. Dont get me wrong i was new to p's at the time like five years ago but still they were true finger chasers and true killers. I tried to give my black romb to three different people and they would end up calling me days later and negging me to pick him up because he was on the verge of killing one of their fish. I always made a joke that if i found a underground piranha fighting rink i would put a heavy wager on his ass killing any other piranha out there. I still have both of them because the fish store told me that they didnt want the liability of it killing anything and told me to put em down. But i didnt have the heart i just kept them as solo fish. if you want my gold Good luck he kills anything he stays with..... hes yours

I'll take your gold, will you ship him if i pay for shipping?

EGG. It was more of a statement that i made to get this man to look at the gold variety of the piranha because of their aggressiveness. To me he is worth a bit of sentamental value im not sure if i am willing to really give him up. I'll think about it though.
