Most amazing coral is.....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would feel horrible if i got it for free i got a huge birds nest basketball size from the lfs that was getting to big for his tank for 100 and it died i felt so bad

Luckily birdsnests are common as all heck. They grow pretty fast too.

That coral might have even been fragged and tank raised. I dont feel bad about killing corals, as long as they werent wild harvested...if they werent I was just wasting my own money.

Needless to say I attempt to avoid this as much as possible haha

I find that LFS coral prices and selection tends to be getting worse and worse.

Seems to me that the internet people are getting first dibs, and that is where the real action is at. That and frag swaps, or individuals selling out of their personal collections.

Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do! :D

Search some of the high end coral sites. They have much more affordable ones, but usually not coloration like that. You must have a nice lfs, because colors like that usually arent in the $300 range, or at least the lower portion.
:D

This LFS i just recently discovered. He pretty much is just dry goods and corals. Good guy. Passionate about his hobby. For the average stuff, 40 per or 3 for 100. He has a donut coral almost the size of my head. $40!

Do you mean a scoly when you say doughnut coral? What are the colors like...the coral you posted a picture of is something that I would refer to as either a scoly, or a doughnut coral...

If it has decent colors you might have to meet me at the border. :D

It was a standard greenish color. The impressive feature of it was it's shear size.

That would either be quite the road trip for you, or quite the road trip for me!

About seven hours for the both of us if we meet in what appears to be the border town of Sarina MI. :D

Thats a sweet looking piece of coral. I myself have always been a fan of hammers.

They have two colored hammers right now which are pretty sweet. We will see if I ever decide to pick one up.
