How would you keep 1/3 of the media submerged into the HOB w/d?

It's not actually a HOB. It sets on top of the tank, so it's a balance of return size and pump flow rate.

Umm, was that correct?

My pond, 300g, slows flow over 1 1/2 months time. Probably reduced to 1/2 flow rate over that time period.
