Most Attractive Thorichthys

I've seen some really cool pictures of thorichthys with amazing trailers. Anyone know which one has the best finage with trailers? I've seen some that even have trailers on their tails. I would love to have those!

I believe Elliotti Are the only ones that have trailers on fins and tail.

ALL of the Thorichthys have the potential for "trailers". IN a group of fry aureus I have had one develope fn extensions at a young age, as well as a couple meeki , an occasional ellioti , My mixteco golds all have some form of fin extension...though not as massive as some i have seen . I don't se any type of "trailer" on my socolofi but that may be due to living with a nippy dither species.
As far as all Thors having the same personality I have to disagree . The level of aggression varies across the genus . Some are better suited in groups than others, al fair well in groups though. IME pasiones and meeki seem to do better than a mixteco . My mixtecos are extremely territorial towards other mixtecos .IME Most often meeki jsut flare and disaply ...with some nipping etc. , however the mixteco male I have will try to rip the fins off any other mixteco male in his area .

Nope. I prefer meeki. Just can't beat a classic. ;)

+2

A good quality meeki will develop some good trailing filaments. I have a simple TB lfs meeki which has developed trailing fins on the dorsal, anal and tail fins. He is around the 4-4.5" mark. So a good quality F0, F1 etc should be even more handsome.

I had a pair of ellioti which was the most stunning cichlid I've seen in person. But quite aggressive in my experience :(
