How big does these guys start coloring up? I have one that is about 3" or so and just starting to see alittle bit of color but nothing exciting.

How big does these guys start coloring up? I have one that is about 3" or so and just starting to see alittle bit of color but nothing exciting.
in memory of the most beautiful cichlid i ever owned he is what i believed to be a ebjd crossed with a Jaguar cichlid he passed 6 months ago

Festae, JD's and EBJD's, Veija's, Red Texas', Salvini's, Trimacs...so many beautiful cichlids! Depends on whether by colorful you mean by spectrum or contrast??? Some Flowerhorn's are really nice too.
Severums might be colorful but they are weak and powerless in the cichlidworld and to me are just an angelfish with less flair...no man who is truly a man would have a Severum, Discus or Angel in their tank and brag about it unless they do yoga to John Denver while feeding their wannabe cichlids pink flakes! Lol, kidding mates...I appreciate anyone who has an appreciation for any pet, wet or dry.
