actually i'm surprised given that very filter thread has a ton of people say 'eheim /thread' in it, that fluval are on top.... guess the fx5 is way more popular than the 2260. weird. an surprising...

i'm abit shocked at the results of the voting, fluval nearly doubles eheim

I believe the point is simply costs. In my years on MFK I have always been surprised about how people spend money on fish and then go dirt-cheap on their filtration :screwy:

Bottom line: The OP asked about "most commonly used filter", and the poll results seem realistic to me. You see more Hyundais on the road than Mercedes ...

Bump. So who's gotten the fluval g?

On my 180 ive got an fx5, an xp3 and two 560l heuey heung sponge filters
on the 135 ive got an fx5 and one 560l heuey heung sponge filter and the 60 ive got one 560: heung and a eheim aquaball, each do a certain job for me but the fx 5 on the 180 has not been plain sailing and if i had the choice again,i wouldnt have one on that tank,It seems fine with the discus but not with my aro etc
Its a sump next for me.

I am an eheim fan used there filters for many years and see no reason to change that,Using a 2028 and a 2078e at the moment, although will be changing the 2028 out for another 2078e but just because the cleaning of the 2078 is far easier as the prefilter is at the top which means it can be got to and rinsed without removeing the other media.
