hi bro radiom

starry ray is a nice name for them, I would like the name estrella ray, but this is already the name for a castexi variant.
I know that P14 is not correct according to the P-numbering of Richard Ross, the "true" P14 is a leopoldi variant with white rings. But this name has etablished as trade name here in germany and in export list from Brazil.
The Aqualog say that these rays are a henlei variant (R036 and R150), but I doubt it. I'm in a interesting discussion about this topic right now with someone who does his own research and has contact to R. Ross.

the tank is currently a 6x2x2, but after the next birth they will move into my new 9x4x2.6 tank.
thats an interesting tot on the starry/estrella.... actually it does look like the castexi but with a different dot colour and background.

Here's my contribution with my humble flower ray (aka sakura as it is know here)...

Two Categories...

1) Most desirable to keep: meaning easy to keep, managable size, somewhat available at less than ridiculous prices
  • Motoro - Marbled or any regular standout individuals
  • Leopoldi - any high contrasting variety

2) If time, money, space, and availability are of no object. Fat chance.
  • Tiger Rays - Bada Bing Bada Boom, goes without saying
  • China Rays - Well, any of the small eyed species. Very big. Very Cool.
  • Otorongo - Big and gorgeous. The end.

Hystrix cause i own 1..
Pearl
tiger
leopoldi :grinyes:

Okay, this is not exactly a stingray, or completely freshwater (it can be kept in a lightly brackish tank) but I find it so oddly beautiful I thought I would share. It is the Banded Eagle Ray (Aetomyleus nichofii) from Bangladesh and parts of the coastal Indo-Pacific. It only gets 27" across the wings and IMO is truly spectacular. (The pics are from fishbase.)
