I remember a kid, maybe three years old, at a school fair who swallowed the goldfish his daddy had won for him. It got lodged in his little throat and after you add up the ambulance ride, the emergency room treatment PLUS the treatment for the salmonella it gave him the cost of that fish was in the neighborhood of (1970's) $6,500.00.
i think i spend more money on travel than the fish, but one of my fh was $400. he died shortly after
