Paid $2.50 for my now 5" GT here in Central NY. He was about 3" when I got him a year and a half ago. Paid 15$ for a 6" Dovii, and 10$ for a 5" Red Devil. Flower horns are kinda expensive here. Electric blue Dempseys are like 40$ for a 2" specimen!?
A Flowerhorn , Red texas or some other good looking hybrids.. They cost more because they are always more rare and unique. Pure breeds are predictable and they stay what they are.
I think it really depends on the dealer. If they need the space? How good of a customer you are? And theirs, and your particular knowledge and interest in the Cichlid too though.
My point exactly. Place, dealer, customer loyalty, and knowledge. Price differs everywhere and means nothing. If you like the fish enough? Get it! Price shouldn't matter.
really all depends who you selling to, I payed 10 bucks an inch for my wild caught jags, 60 for the female, 40 for the male. hand delivered. can get that from any ol fish keeper? no. they just jags to them. to me they are wild caught and worth the price. I have around 300 fry growing, am i going to be able to sell them all as F1 for a good price? nope, be lucky to sell a couple for what they are worth. rest LFS store credit for 3 bucks or protian snacks for the oscars.
