most hardest fish i have ever looked for

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd like to note it was not until the past few years that there really has been any interest in these fish here on this side of the world. Before the work that some put into it to get these dang things they where pretty much a mythological monster.. Solomon in particular gets the huge giant and big kudos to really pushing them in this Hemisphere.. He was the one that really pushed hard to get the first few of these in. From there the popularity of the CBG has raised regularly resulting in many more importations into both Canada and the US.

Really gars are a very new fish to this hobby.. It has not really been 5 or so years that they really started to be a desired fish. Many I think do not remember the old days when no gars where ever around really and if they where it was either you caught them or spent $100 for a FLG.

Wow, this hobby has really come pretty far over the last few years.

that funnie cuz they are a ancient species been around for millions of years.
and wow flg costed 100 bucks.
thx for the input guyz i hope i find 1 soon.

haha thanks for the props Richard, and think of how gar the gar work has come since we joined forces all the way back in 2004! we will have to put together some sort of recent history timeline post in the near future, i think that would be quite interesting :)

to the OP - contact belowwater.com (Oliver Lucanus) as he gets Cuban gars in in Canada (so the international work is easy for you...since it's not international). the new batch of small fish will be in in the very near future. he can fill you in on further details regarding cost, shipping, availability, etc. his stock is top notch--

have to agree with the timeline idea Sol...i can give input from this side of the world. haha. as for waiting, i'm still a baby but it took 4 years for tropical gar. i finally got it and it was worth every second of the wait

Thx for all the help i talked Oliver and he said they are available but he needs more interest I'n order for him to order them I'n. Anyone Lookin for 1 at the moment?
