Nothing humane about any of those. Maybe you should run a concentration camp
I agree. Especially with the last two, there is no guarantee that the fish will die the first time...

most humane thing to do is...

put large cutting board next to tank...net fish and place on board...put paper towel over fish...use large very sharp knife to remove head.
No pain or suffering for fish if you do it fast and smooth.

gory for you...painless vs poison or freezing terror for fish.

Just to update, He is gone now. As for the living conditions, they were less than ideal for him. He did get 3 water chagnes a week, and was pretty well fed. Just had a really small apartment so to speak. The thing that sucks is that I had convinced her to get a bigger tank when she moves into the new house next month. She and my BIL are both pretty easy to educate as far as that goes. They got caught up like most noobs when they bought him along with several others for a "big" (30) tank. Needless to say all the others ended up as Oscar poo. I have been gently beating her up since I got into this last year. Like I said though I think I have her convinced to go bigger, trying to get her up to at least a 75gallon.
To those who offered the humane suggestions (for both the O and the sis) Thanks very much.
To those who offered the quick and brutal...she needed humane for her too.
To the others.....wow do you see a therapist on a reuglar basis?

How exactly do you flush a fish that is multiple times the size of the drain? :screwy: Even if the fish did fit through their, it wouldn't be at all humane.

My drain is bigger because I take big ****s.

If you need to use Clove Oil in the future...

Put the fish in a bucket with some tank water. Just enough to cover the fish will do. Measure how much water there is.
Take some of the water into a container with a tight lid. Add Clove Oil - 25 drops per liter, shake vigorously, and add it to the bucket. The fish will fall asleep in a minute or so, but wait a few minutes to make sure. It is humane because its an overdose of anaesthetic. The fish falls asleep and then loses consciousness, then dies.
Adding Vodka is unnecessary, and painful for the fish.

Flushing is cruel because the fish will live until it dies of cold, pollution etc.

Freezing is extremely slow and painful, as ice crystals form under the skin as the fish gets cold.
