lol why do you keep on saying the rtc will eat all the fish? have you ever owned one?? ive seen 2 ft rtc kept with SA cichlids without any problems.

if you watch the video the rtc's mouth is already large enough to eat his tankmates - we arent talking about any other rtc that ppl have owned

all im saying is that if he isnt well fed he will eat his tankmates

sure the pima can get big but look at the size of the fish in the video dont theorize about how big they COULD get

I gotta disagree. The driftwood would be fine, if there weren't so many dern fish in there. It also bothers me seeing fish from different geographical locations in the same tank. you got asians with with south americans with central americans with north americans. didn't notice any africans, but i didn't watch for too long. I don't even mix south americans with central americans anymore. thats just my personal preference, though.

you should need a special permit to own arapima, rtc, pacu...

You must be bothered by pretty much every monster tank on MFK then, and most smaller ones too.

that makes it even better :headbang2 lol i have south american, african and north american in my tank.

and if you guys think that tank is overstocked... you obviously havent seen the best thread and tank on the forum http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44941

i <3 JDM :D

Wow. That link was awesome!

You can hit a point in overstocking a tank, to where you lose the beauty of the individual fish, and it just looks like a fish version of 'choose your own lobster'

That first picture of the 2Pac/TooPacked link looks actually gross in my opinion, the water doesn't look good at all.

JDM isn't personally for me.. the problem I have w/ JDM is how alot of newer hobbyists think that type of set-up is easy. And kill alot of fish trying to do it. The amount of water changes needed, bio filtration needed, food, and attention to tiny details that can kill off an entire tank like that in a matter of hours if something goes wrong is why I don't like them. there is absolutely no room for error unless it's essential built-in.

Though it boggles my mind when people cheer at JDM style tanks yet will flame eachother left and right for keeping such and such species in a tank thats "to small"

Regardless if the tank looks cool, nice, clean what ever.... We have to many young unexperienced members that see this and attempt it. They kill a lot of fish. I think there should either be an age limit or JDM tanks should stop being supported by more experienced members that know the true dedication it takes to run one on this forum.

Edit:same thing above... kids flaming for not enough room, but JDM is okay
