Oscars have a lot of personality,most of it is bad but they do have a lot of it.

I don't think their personality is bad at all. Mine is very friendly except with smaller cichlids.

Paratilapia polleni have similar traits as the Oscar-beg for food, come to glass & watch you even when they're not hungry, come out of the water to get food, though I'm fond of polleni my vote is Oscars.

got to be oscar, aro's or datnoid's although my freind has a male auratus which is very aware and intelligent,comes to top of the tank when he see's you, not always for food

I would say datnoids are pretty personable. Once they get to know you, they will come greet you every time you pass the tank. (although they may have alterior motives)

Yea i would say Dats are highly personable once they are settled. once you get them out of there shell they become so interactive.

oh i also want to throw in a vote for the giant gourami. ive found the ones that ive kept can be quite sociable.

the O is by far the most personable fish in the hobby, one fish can display a variety of moods. they can be petted, show lonliness, be assertive, and can entertain my family and friends
