Most Prized Fish in you Collection?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
honestly i have some expensive fish and the ones i'm most proud of are my neons have not lost one in 6 mnths and they are getting big the colors are the brightest of any i've ever seen

I've never had a large tank, but the fish I am most proud of is my Mainganos male (Melanochromis cyanoerhabdos). He's about 4" and I think he is quite beautiful. He also has a lot of personality to match and is quite a vicious fish, in his own way.

I also quite enjoy my Kuhli loaches (Pangio myersii) because they are my oldest fish-- going on 7 years.

my favorite is my [sold to me as an albino, but i think hes a lutino oscar] great personality. he loves to be petted. even my little girls pet him. he is still juvinile, maybe about 6in or so. he turned me into an oscar lover....

After a quick consult with my wife, it has to Kermit, one of our 10" Oscars. Mr Personality plays peek-a-boo and gives me that fishy "I'm gonna get you" look if I kiss my wife where he can see, then she comes over and kisses the tank by him and he dances and splashes. We even set up the camera to record his "fishy shines" sometimes when he's acting crazy.

Hmmm, this is old, but I'll speak up anyway.

Right now my best is my 8" female Hystrix. She has tons of personality and doesnt look too bad. A very outgoing fish, she matches some of the motoros Ive had as far as activity level. Its not too often you see a ray practicly flip upside down and wedge herself in between a peice of driftwood and a divider then freak out because she cant get the worm. I'll try to put up some pics of her soon.

Hopfully soon my prized fish will be my tiger ray. He is still pale and thin right now but that will change soon enough.

< my old JD he is not the biggest or my most expensive fish but had him for ages and took him off some one who said he was gong to kill him because he was a menace in his tank have had him with loads of fish bigger than him and he has always come out on top

Has to be my angelfish. He's as tough as nails and I've had him since April, but he was the healthiest Angelfish I have gotten in Petsmart ever. He's around 4-5 inches tall, and read to eat a convict once he gets large enough.

In My freshwater tanks probably my venustus and my saltwater it would have to be my puffer!!!

Good Thread
