Reagan is the man! Panama Green Umbees, Cobra Pikes and an endless list of other rare and tough to breed cichlids! Can't wait till he gets the Yellow Labs going.

does any fish count? i perssonally thought it was very difficult to breed discus. ive had quite few pairs lay eggs and they were always eaten or died. then i finally got some that would let the fry eat off them and live. might be easy for some people but i thought discus were pretty hard.

Peathenster ... not only does he seem to breed all his south americans, he has gotten the tough ones as well (parrot cichlids rank as one of the more difficult SA's).

+1, Not only does the bastard have access to many of the fish I'd love to see in Australia, but he's spawning them too. :irked:

GM, don't count yourself out of this one. Let's hear a roll call of the species you've successfully bred.

you guys are too kind...I just saw this and my face is literally red. I'm too lazy to raise fry and am not really a breeder :) I just have soft and acidic water...the fish do the rest...no "skill" whatsoever.

Mack definitely has my vote too. David in NC too ("Fishspeaker") - he bred H. psittacus, U. fernandezyepezi, C. spectabilis and many pikes that I can't even name.

Any fish counts of course, but I'm impressed when a guy breeds a species that NO ONE else seems to be able to breed.

I would say Irvin Bagley from Into Cichlids in Terra Haute takes the gold for Indiana...he has a fish warehouse across the street from his house where he breeds nearly every species of African cichlid as well as several SA cichlids...as far as difficulty I would say he doesn't breed the most difficult of fish but he has so many rare fish it's insane!

I have a group of Yellow labs now. Come on GMFSHNUT. You have spawing things while everone else is posting about how to keep them alive. Red Islants, Beani, Wild blue and Green umbees, Chanchos (I know chanchos are not hard to spawn but you are on your first group of female I am on female 17.
