I'd actually put it this way..

big NTT

ST/CT

big NGT

big AT

IT

thing is, those who really want an ST can actually buy one.. it "just" takes money.. big NTT's, NGT's and AT's are really hard to find.. this is possibly the biggest forum and I don't know of 1 NTT over 14", maybe 10 NGT's over 12" and like 3 AT's over 12".. I'm not trying to make the ST a smaller deal than they are or anything but calling them rare is just untrue in the same way that calling asian aros rare..

All else might be very accurate, but i wouldn't compare st's rarity with asian aro rarity. One is farm bred and the other barely exists in comparison.

Yes, asians are legal but sweden is also very young in this hobby meaning there is just one guy in the whole country importing..

I see what you mean but as i said, owning an st is only a matter of money.. There is and has always been st for sale on here (i've been here for 5 years).. You can click to buy/sell right now and buy yourself an st.. Do that with the other dats :) if you can buy it at any given time i can't see how it's rare..

And just as everything else, we as a race have never let an animal go extinct that earn us money..

^ yes..

but to further develop.. there is no mfk-culture in sweden.. I'm actually one of the first (not like in founding there is always someone before you) to keep this kind of fish.. me and some friends got a swedish mfk going in 2009 with like 20 members.. all in all we are maybe 500 people who are into this.. we have 1 ST in sweden and that got here in 2012, maybe 15 asian aros.. and since I can actually count these fish you get the point.. what I'm saying is just that the ST is exclusive, not rare.. haha, sorry for babbling but just wanted to say it.. :)

No babble there, rather an interesting insight on the hobby in another part of the world. If you don't mind and if you happen to know, how much money did that ST cost?

wow.. around 3500$ - 16" and I don't even know if that's with or without the fees for packing, flight etc.. it's the same guy that is taking care of the import of the aros so I wouldn't be surprised if it some sort of package deal etc.. really nice guy btw.. but that's the good thing.. you get to meet most of your fellow mfk'ers personally.. http://mfksweden.forum24.se/mfksweden-about2726.html / http://mfksweden.forum24.se/mfksweden-about4856.html (the forum has a new name and this one is locked) and ofcourse I'm the guy with a cucumber in my mouth doh..

I've always been jelous of you guys were there is a market and resonable prices.. that's why these forum are so great, atleast you get inspiration and can stay in touch with other maniacs.. well, I'm done..

Wow,and thanks.

I would say its an odd ball IT as well, but i'm no expert, and really have no visual experience with d. pulcher... i know some of the traits from research and pics but no practical experience... i also cant believe that people dont really like the AT dats... i think they have such a cool unique look to them, although i havent seen any 8+ inch ones, but hopefully mine gets there one day! :D
