Fish and shipping (aerated bin on a pallet)= $14,218 for a fish (won't say which) that arrived ammonia burned and died in the drip acclimation tank before I could get him into the pond.
 
Wasn't invented yet. This was back in '84. The major malfunction was absolutely no purge done before shipping. The shipping bin was completely fouled by fecal waste and regurgitated partially digested whole fish.
 
That sucks oddball sorry to hear it must have been an awesome fish

most for me is 75 for a large purple tang

but I just bought 4 Acestrorhynchus isalinae for 100 bucks but that is 4 fish so probably doesn't count
 
Most I spent was gas and hotel costs to drive 600 miles for my tig and black aro. I didnt keep track of the costs, but it was worth it:D

Don't know if it could be called 'winning'. Still haven't heard from a few other spenders on this site.
