whats the aggression like on these? similar to a jag or?

Lots worse, I've have multiple Jaguars and this is my first motaguense, and the motaguense at this size is worse than any of my Jaguars. IMO only second to dovii in aggression in it's family. However mine is skittish when I approach the tank but comes out when I sit. Only downside so far I have to them is personality, Oscars at that size go crazy when they see you.

And dependinng on its personality as an adult, I may sell my motaguense, but that's at least a year plus away

It all depends on the individual, but its not a first I have heard of skittish mota's. Definitely should try one sometime :P

As far as personality I think it depends on the individual. I had a mota that would go crazy whenever I came in the room, but he would also spit sand at me when I came to the glass. One of the most aggressive cichlids I ever had, I couldn't pair him up so I ended up getting rid of him.

I was looking at this fish closely today and realized that it's a loisellei not a mota. This is the second time I've been sold loisellei as motaguense in the past couple of years. First from a cichlid convention and then from the wetspot. I'm starting to think parachromis is the most misidentified genus of cichlids of all.
