Mother of all Clams

The big ones (like in the OP) are Tridacna gigas. Their life span is about 40 years. When the hens release eggs, they can number a billion per spawn from the larger hens. The pic of the specimen releasing eggs is an aquarium specimen.

T. gigas cannot fully close as some other species can. There is always some mantle exposed. If one did close enough to hold a person, they're dead unless they think to kill the clam and cut through the posterior adductor muscle. The closing pressure of this muscle is up to 1100psi for adult specimens.
