I did mine on a 1000. It was difficult but doable. Good luck.:headbang2
1000cc sport bike?

I have a Honda shadow aero with all the extras .. back rest saddle bags windshield but the big problem is the foot rest .. i dont have pegs i have running boards .. and they drag on the ground if i try to do the figure 8 and the cone weaves .. its so low to the ground i cannot make tight turns ...

What do you ride? I'm just taking the written permit test, I'll worry about the driving once I get my own bike.

Taking the driving test of a crotch Rocket is NOT fun. I did my test on my 600RR. I almost lost it on the cones. LOL

Save yourself some trouble and pay $50 and take the abate course. You learn how to ride correctly and you get to take the test on an itty bitty 150.

I have considered the Abate course, but doesn't it only come around once a year?

Yep and you have to schedule it early. But you can hold your permit for a year until you get into the course.

I would have taken the course, but I dropped out and let my brother sub in for me because he had zero riding experience. I just took the test.

I should be okay for just taking the test. I have been riding with my buddies Tyler and Michael. I've been riding Michael's k6 gsxr 600 and absolutely love it. Though totally illegal, we still ride fairly regularly.

i took abate .. LOVE the class its great ... and we have the abate ride next weekend 5k+ bikes all in a line .. its going to be great ... so a week from sunday if your not doing anything come on up to South Bend Indiana and have a great time..!!! its like $35 for non abate members as a donation to MS so its all for a good cause ..

but yea anyone who has taken the test well tell you its not easy on a big bike .. and even smaller sport bikes can have a hard time if your not used to going slow and taking TIGHT turns .. but for new riders its not as easy as it sounds ..

southbend sucks, i stay away from there haha

So my happy ass slept through my alarm this morning and by the time I got up, it was too late and I had to go to class, so TOMORROW morning I take it. lol. I guess it's just another day to study.

lol lame ass! is it a test like a written one? we get one on a screen i'm studying now :( lol i had to pay £30 for mine

I took my riding test on a Shadow 1100. It wasn't too bad at all. However, I honestly don't believe I could pass the test on my MV Agusta (crotch rocket). The slow speed turn radius on this bike is absolutely terrible.

If possible find someone with a 250 rebel or a dual sport.

Oh, the written test is extremely easy as long as you take 30 minutes to read the book.
