Motoro and Arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
arowanas usually become sexualy mature at about 5 years of age, the males are alittle bigger and have a bigger bottom jaw as this is used hold the eggs and babys.

now with the motoros, the females are bigger than the males but the males have what are called claspers with are long reproductions organs located by the base of the tail (i think).

right on the rays, on the arowanas its a bit tricky. The wider mouth is one way to tell
but its not 100% . Even the pros just let them pair off to breed.

its real difficult to sex arowanas.. even the tips provided by delgado and redtail aren't precise.. usually breeders just get adults of 5-6 and wait for a pair to form :)

Ha i new about the size but the whole mouth thing is new to me thank you for sharing that info i suppose you would need a couple of around the same size to be able to tel the sex of the speices so i would imagin that pairing them off would be the best idea

Wow. I guess breeding arowanas not that easy. Even crossbreesing would be harder then. Thanks guys

besides the sexing, gotta have a lot of room for breeding. specially full grown silvers. :D

so your nose really flat? J/k :D (pangong_ilong)
