In a box of Pop Tarts!
I have a pair of Motoros in with a 5 inch clown loach for about 4 months without any problems. However recently I have noticed that the loach seems to be biting the rays:irked: Is this a normal thing or is maybe something else going on?

BTW the tank size is 250.

do you notice this all the time? or after/while feeding ?
does the ray seem to be bothered by the "bites" and does it leave any marks that you can see ?

No. The loach has started doing this recently. He is leaving marks and the ray is bothered by this. I can move the loach which I will probably do but I am wondering why??

not sure, my loaches are totally fine with my ray.
might have to wait to see what others say, but i'd take the loach out for now just to be safe.

Yea mine has been good to its just recently. I'd say within the last 2 weeks. I have some smaller loaches that I was trying to grow out before adding to the tank. Maybe the loach is lonely.

That's fairly odd. Is that during feeding time or otherwise?

It seems to be any time. Sometimes the loach does not bother the rays and other times he follows them constantly and kind of picks on the skin. For the most part the rays don't seem to mind but when the loach gets a good bite the rays get annoyed and try to swim away or bury themselves in the sand.

I have seen my loaches pic off parasites from new rays. Assuming there are no parasites, they could be acting out of habit.
