u r right. you know though, I was keeping a regular weekly water change...I think the real problem is I was overfeeding and not changing enough water when I did do a change. Shrimp is such a messy food

Like vamptrev said and also have had high nitrates cause the same problem. Took about 2-3 weeks of very good water for the ray to start eating like it was. Never lost one either.
 
Thanks guys. Been a while since this incident but I would like to report the motoro is doing great. My water change regimen has dramatically increased BTW. I'm thinking about setting up a drip system.
