I keep a breeding pair of angels in with my 6 inch motoro and have had no problems. However, the motoro did take out all the bala sharks. Back when I had my reticulated ray I kept a school of 8 angels with him and also had no problems. I do believe keeping them well fed also helps keep them from eating tankmates.

well since it will be only pups in the tank at any given time with the angels, Im thinking of giving it a try. The angles are about 2 yrs old and are big enough to get away I hope from any pup that may get lucky catching one.
If I have any trouble, Ill just move the angels into some breeder tanks I have running.
Ive had my rays take out one of my bala sharks also. My Motoro took the head off of the bala. They were in the tank together for a long time and one day, the bala was dead. I didnt even think the ray could catch the bala, but I have a theory on how he did it.
Anyway, thanks for the info. Will be working on the change in a few days and then will see how it goes.
