that is a beautiful ray BTW!

Thx. It was either another Pbass or this guy. I was a little worried bc he is big. But he is a really amazing addition and my wife finally likes something in the tank.

I used to get earthworms from Uncle Jim's Worm Farm. Was much happier when I got my rays switched to shrimp.

Was it tough to convert them? rub the worms on the shrimp and feed kinda deal?

And do you feed every day one shrimp or more?

Wasn't too hard to convert them, I cut up the shrimp and worms and froze the mix but most people just mix it and feed without freezing. Between my 5 rays I'm feeding 12-14 shrimp a day if it's the 51-60ct shrimp.

Rays are really easy to convert. I had my most recent baby marble taking chopped up tilapia the day she went in the tank.

I'd say just throw in the worms and shrimp together and the ray will eventually bite into both at the same time and learn the shrimp is food.

What I did for my baby was feed her a ton of tilapia for a week (3 times a day), then starved her for a day...the next time she was given food, it was a pellet wrapped in tilapia. She bit into both and has been eating pellets ever since.

Thanks. I will try shrimp soon, certainly will be easier than worms. I am taking my time with feeding so I dont have a repeat ammonia disaster. Can't wait for full filter bio.
