I have read that motoros need a Ph around 6.0 is that something that you have to follow strictly? I know that my tap Ph is around 7.6 the last time I looked but I'm going to retest it today and see what I get. And I was wondering if this would need me to buffer my water or if that will be ok for a motoro?

I did a short search and just found that it was 6.0 was the highest recamended but I need to know if there will be health issues if I don't buffer.

PH, Has no ill affect on Ray's.. They will ajust to your PH. Mine that you seen were in 8.6 the whole time i had them. Just CLEAN water is all you'll need.

Bad advice.

A pH of 6 would be alot better heath wise long term for your rays than 7.6.

I posted the same question Koop is now. And all the experianced stingray people told me ph is no matter. If you have other proof please speek up. My Ray's did awesome in my water. Even as newborn pup's. Hell i have Ro and never used a drop. Koop ask Nic or Mike @ H20.. They will not lead you wrong. ;)

Nic should see this I hope if he hasn't said anything by tomorrow I'll PM him. He's been helping alot on my Motoro question threads I've had lately.

I think I need to get a new pH tester. My API test kit is giving me all sorts of crazt readings. like...

8.6 from tap
6.8 from my G/fs african tank
7.2 from my dorado tank
8.2 from my GATF tank.

and they all get WCs directly from the tap. So I think I should invest in a pinpoint monitor. just to be safe.

Key is to have a stable PH. high or low PH does not have any effect on them as long as its stable. You're much better off having stable water with 8.6 PH than water that has a flutuation PH becuase you decide you have to lower the PH. KISS is the key. Seriously, throw out the damn PH test kits, you dont need them.

real simple..... what ever comes out of your tap is what you use ;) no fuss no muss no nothing... just real simple :)
