Does it usually heal up pretty good? Should I do anything out of the norm to promote healing?

I'm really glad she is still eating well, makes me confident she is still ok.

Have you tested the water for ammonia and nitrate? Keep the water very clean. Salt will help but it will heal without it also. That's assuming it is an abrasion. I'd move the pleco asap. If it's internal, you need to change things up. My ray had a fading color skin issue like this that I believe was occurring because of lack of nutrition and varied diet since it only ate one thing. It healed by varying the diet and feeding more. What's yours eating?
 
My lfs have just had the same prob with two of there rays in display tank , they took the large royal plec out and it seemed to have stopped
It has healed up really fast , I went in five days later they had both healed up fine , hope yours does the same moosemj
 
I feed it mostly cut salmon, and occasionally tilapia, but I do agree I should vary the diet more. I've noticed it has started eating pellets too so that should help.

It shouldn't be the water since I just did a water change before the discoloration, but I will check that too.

I think I may try to get rid of the pleco then too. I like it, but definitely takes a back seat to the health and appearance of my rays...
