i just bought a motoro stingray size around 6'' a few days ago and he is not eating for four days but just swim to the surface very often
there is no sign of wound just want to know what happen and is this normal
water parameter is fine and my other ray is eating very well
i try bloodworm and massivore but didn't help
thanks for any suggestion

check your PH, GH & KH level... ur stingray maybe stress..
Do not switch on the fish tank light as it add stress to the ray.
Try feeding it with ghost shrimp (motoro favourite) or small cat fish.

when he back to normal for few days add black water if possible..

hmmm wat really works wonders is nightcrawlers!! get them at walmart, make sure they are alive inside, chop them to the smallest size.... it gets gross but will work. gauranteed to work. \

fyi wat was the prev owner feeding it?

Is he swimming around searching for food? or just laying around? Like dizcus said try to find out what they were feeding prior to you purchasing, and also try to keep the tank lights off unless it is needed, rays do tend to go on hunger strikes which may be happening here.

thanks for the helpful info
well, he is swimming around the surface and the floor
the previous owner didn't feed him anything as they just came back from the airport, i bought it at a lfs
i will try night crawler and ghost shrimp
will light stress the ray??
but my other ray is doing fine it is also a motoro

the importing process is very stressful on rays. He may just be not eating as he is new to the tank it is common with rays, and yes the tank lights will stress the ray try keeping them off to keep the stress level as low as possible for as long as you can until he starts to eat. My ray buries herself when i put the light on lol.

mine seem to be swimming around more and to the surface often when i turn the light on
is this normal
also, how long will it take him to eat and how long can he starve himself

Yeh thats fine. Mine as gone as long as 8-9 days. My buddies ray once almost went 2 weeks without eating. Every ray is different but that helps give you an estimate on how long. I know it's something obvious but the water levels are all good right?

yeah, the water is good
just want to ask should i do a small amount of water change to make the ray eat

yeh frequent small water changes is good, im not sure that itself will make it eat. Like all said before just keep lights off make sure water stays good, hes prob just taking some time to adjust to the tank. I hope he comes around let me know
