motoro stingrays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not being a douche. I was just happy that I got something right. You see, all of you are jerks on MFK.

there's a difference being happy you got something right and posting "CALLED IT!" to gloat that you got it right. some would call that post whoring.

i get the distinct impression that you are either a pre-teen, or a teenage until the age of 18 by the way you reply and your disregard for useful info to get the answer you want, even though it may be the wrong or improper answer.

we take our rays seriously. they are not something neat to just pick up and toss into a small tank and go on with our day like a new puppy stuck in its puppy crate. just like a dog, it's a lifestyle. they REQUIRE attention and commitment.
when someone comes in and says "well, screw what the ray needs to thrive, i want to stick it in a sink-full of water and leave it, i don't care what you guys say!" then we tend to disagree and come off as "mean" and "jerks". who's the real jerk, that cares so little to provide the proper setting for a living creature?

I am listening to you guys, just modeling it to my current situation. And notice how I asked like 13 questions in 3 days? Ya. I want to learn. Also, can you really blame me for being disappointed that a ray can't be kept for life in my tank? That's like if I said to you, "No. You can't have a kid because your house is too small. Get a bigger house, then we'll talk." I said I would upgrade, but right now the opportunity hasnt presented itself. I have a decent amount of time from the time I get my ray, to the time I upgrade, to set up a larger tank.

that's why people that truly want rays research them for long periods of time, gather equipment needed to house them, and once that is done and cycled, they purchase the rays. i spent over a year researching, and that's a short timespan. grape spent like 2 or 3 years before purchasing hers.

i have been disappointed in not being able to keep fish previously, due to tank size restriction or illegality. you know what i did? i got a bigger tank to house them. and the illegals, i just have to accept that i cannot keep them. if you need a bigger tank, look on sites like craigslist for deals. it's how i've gotten most of the tanks i've owned and haven't built myself.

everyone gets disappointed with something, but just because you're disappointed doesn't mean it's ok to go through with it because "you care". that's a very selfish attitude and the wellbeing of a living creature depends on that decision.

you have at most 6 months if you buy one at 3 inches. that time will be gone before you know it and you'll be left wondering where it went and you still most likely won't have upgraded and either need to scramble or resign yourself to the fact you can't upgrade for a while still.

the best advice you were given was upgrade before purchase.

of course, we all don't think you'll actually heed it.

And do I SOUND pre-teen? Does a pre-teen talk like I do?

yes. not all preteens "tlk lyk dis on da webz", there are some very intelligent preteens. the fact that you use the "i'm disappointed and selfish" route, alongside calling those who give you sound advice that you don't want to hear as being "mean and jerks", and when 1 person agrees with you despite their experience/lack thereof, you gloat and say "HAHA! I KNEW I COULD. THE REST OF YOU CAN SHUT UP!" or something similar.

that is a very immature, and oftentimes, adolescent attitude.
