  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So i went to Lowes and found premium medium grade filtered sand. I was going to buy it but it said it MAY contain silica. I dont think i will run the risk then. Any ideas? Thanks
Tyler

buy some estes the only sand i have had experience with. just bought some caribsea but dont know how it will do yet but estes sand has done well by me so far.

The only bags of estes i can find are little 5 pound bags.

So if i just went to a pool store or a hardware store and found Pool filter sand this would be fine for my motoro? Is there anything i need to worry about? Would i have any problems with the sand getting sucked into my filters? Thanks
Tyler Priem

Nope. That is what I do. I go to my pool store as for a bag of pool filter sand. It only comes in 50 pound bags (I think). Open the bag and pour it in. Just make sure not to use too much. I used a 50 pound bag for a 135 gallon tank. Besides it being cheap, it's clean. There is no need to wash it. I think I paid around $6 for the bag, I am positive it was under $7. Depending on where you are located the pool stores may not have any right now due to the weather. I'd call first.

Ok this is what im going to do for my motoro. Thank you!
