i am on the verge of picking up 2 motoros for my 400 gallon tank tommorow , my question is how tolorent are they i am showing 0.75 nitrite 0.05 amn( barely traceable ) and 1.0 nitrite right now. i know how sensitive they can be . are my levels acceptable for them? i know they are in a 1.0 amn at the lfs i have tested there bag water on a previous purchase . any suggestions ? t/y

ur nitrates sound fine nitrites should be zero?
are they going in the tank in your avatar?

yes, they are quite large , i forget there size off the top of my head., i wanna say 10" ? my avatar pic was a crowded group photo. the best with getting all of them in the shot but it gives a overcrowding condition impression, would a slight nitrite issue be a problem for the rays ?

ur tank is almost cycled.

i would wait. the rays are gonna cause a spike, unless u dont feed them.

P.S. looks like ur cat is gonna eat ur rays

i was thinking a dose of bio-spira with the rays may speed things along ? but in theory i would be adding more nitrites to the tank making the problem worst ? the more think about it and read the help from you guys , i think i am going to wait. no way around mother nature .

Got a full tank shot?
I'm getting this feeling you don't have room for the bio load to two motoros.

dont think that will be a issue , i have 30pds of bio media in a built in wet/dry system + 2 fluval fx5's

30 pounds of Un-Cycled BioMedia doesn't do you much good..

Ammonia + Nitrites + Rays = Dead Rays.

You should have zero Ammonia, and Nitrite.

I am assuming your cycling your tank? If that's not the case, you don't need rays yet :D Fix your water quality problem first.

PS. Your LFS has ammonia, too? What the?!?!
