I would imagine this is because of the size difference - a male retic mating a large motoro femal would be alot more pleasant than a female retic with a lrg male motoro...

This is exactly what I was try to get at.

Nic I can see a large female with a smaller male motoro. But I don't see that as a breeding program, as the male motoro will eventually double the size of the female retic. And I am not sure how thats gonna turn out, when he tries to stick it again.

If the goal is to make motoroXretic pups, all you can do is try. Good luck, and pics are a must if you are successful

Absolutely, MFK will b the first place i post of any successful breeding.

I'm not getting my hopes up though, as I have not read about any retics xbreeding with other types of potomotrygon rays, whilst searching through old posts.
I'm also very new to rays, so got loads of catching up to do.

Either way, if you have a male motoro and a female retic, the motoro would evetually double the size of the female, if you have a female motoro and a male retic, the motoro would eventually get too big for the retic to mount, so either way, it wouldnt work out to be a breeding program.

ah well....that makes sense.

I've never actually heard of anyone breeding retics. It would be a treat to see a new hybrid.
