motoro's at LFS.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
stress from buying them and moving to your tank makes it unlikely that it will survive the transition..perhaps if the lfs could power feed it and fatten it up for you..odds would be better for survival.

yea ive checked on him 2x. he does live up the island and they have transfred him too more then one tank.. he has stayed at the lfs for atleast a month I think...

Look like newly imported marbles fr columbia. They typically look banged up when they arrive. If yours have been in the store for a month...then might not be worth the risk.

Unlikely for them to hold while the ray fatten up, if nice and healthy, should be worth 200 at least.

I think that is going to be a nice ray..

I would talk to whoever is in charge, and explain to them that this is a damaged ray and offer them $100 cash..

I would also find a large source of blackworms.. have a large empty cycled aquarium at about 82-84 degrees, lightly salted, extra o2, ready to go for them.. feed blackworms/nightcrawlers heavily and hope they regenerate their disc and put on some weight.

Yep, I agree. Take the chance, but try to talk down the price by pointing out all of the damage. The fact that the store has been unable to sell them in the month's time could help you too.

Offer to bring in some of your own food (live nightcrawlers maybe ) and see if the rays will eat for you. I have found that lfs don't put much effort into getting their stock to eat, move them in and move them out as quickly as possible. I brought food into the store where I bought my marbles from a few days a week and made sure they were eating. The store owners didn't seem to mind. Plus, the store was on my way home from work.

That would be a good buy if you know they are eating.
