what size tank do i need to buy for 1 maby 2 of these sting rays i love them there colors and so forth and i want them badly please help thanks in advance

I think you need at least a 180gal for one.

no no ... what size do you plan on buying...
i wouldent recomend under 5-6"

a 75 should be good for a while, but motoros are the larger kind of rays and get very very large

Motoros get around 16-18 " wide, so you could do them in a tank from 75 to 180 gallons; However i highly reccomend that u get a sump for anything less than 125 gallons. You can build one for cheep. Look for ideas and pics in the diy/ Filter fourums

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT?

Motoros need a 180g Tank MINIMUM.

16-18" is SPECULATION. There is no exact recorded size for Motoros, as the max sizes vary depending on where they are collected from and how they were raised. I have seen 24-28" Motoros in person. I would also say a 3 foot wide tank should be the minimum, but a 2 foot wide tank will do for a while. If you wan't to cramp them in a 75g as juvies, good luck, your water quality will be poor and they will curl up in no time. Judging from the guys post, he needs to do alot more research before considering his purchase. Most people make bad purchases and kill rays, only because 'They want them so badly' and usually can't wait to do things right.

There is an article on Freshwater stingrays, and alot of comprehensive websites.. Try doing some reading and maybe you will find alot of answers to your future questions!

Here is a 24"+ Motoro at a public aquarium.. Perhaps it grew to its maximum size because it wasn't kept in a 125g or smaller? C'mon guys, Rays are sensative and majestic animals, not your everyday overgrown retard fish like a Pacu, they need specialized care and special homes.

yes as rayman advised it was not directed at you.
he was however trying to give ytou some decent advise and not put some motoros in a 75g tank.
i used to keep motoros in my 180g and after seeing some huge motoros @ 2' disc in a public aquarium in scotland decided against keeping rays as a 3' wide tank wouuld be needed.
even the smaller ray types will need minimum 180g.
