Ok so I would like an opinion from any one who has been or lives or lived in either place! I have been accepted to UTI and am debating if I should make the move from Colorado to either Rancho Cucamonga or Orlando Florida! I have been to orlando a few times and had great times but I am a mountain man at heart and love to ski! I know either place is way different then my small mountain town and would love some input!

i guess it depends what you're into. we pretty much have everything within an hour drive. You got hollywood, LA, Amusement parks, the Beaches, the mountains of course,.............. and the best place to be for buy/sell fish stuff :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

Rancho uti campus I nice!!! I say rancho If y move down hit me up let's chill!!!

MAn thanks guys this is really a tough decision! I wanted to move to FLorida due to the climate and fishing! I have never been to Rancho though! How is the fishing and how far from rancho is the ocean and how warm is the ocean lol. Whats the price of living in either place? Job wise what does rancho have to offer? I have a millon ?'s

as far as fishing goes, socal has a lot of ponds and what not, some lakes,............ but probably not as good as florida. but we got ocean fishing too that's within about an hour or so drive.

again, depends what kind of game fish you're into. I'm into bass..... largemouth, striper. i also enjoy catfish and some panfish. but we don't have the cichlas like florida would among other natives of Florida

but i've never lived in florida, can't really say which would be better to live. for job searching, depends what field you're in also. some are harder than others to land a job

Fishing in FL...fishing captial of the world..what else to say? lol wide variety of fish too. Fishing areas are anywhere from 1minute away (depending on where you live) to 20min for freshwater (unless you want some pbass then you has to drive 3-4hours and make a mini vacation) and 45-1 hour or so for inshore/surf/pier salt fishing. Lots of good offshore fishing here also. Weather is great for it too.

Never been to the campus so I dont know how it is.

Jobs as I said before depends on what your looking for... as is with anywhere.

Cost of living in FL... well you getting a house, renting a house, apartment?? I know a few houses here with a 4k down payment were like $475 a month. that was a 3/2 one car garage. A lot of the homes here are cheap b/c of foreclosures and short sales. A regular priced house is usually from 100-250k for a nice house 3/2 and 4/2. Single room apartments run from $450 and up usually (depends on area and what not, most start in the $500 range). Rent a room with roomies its usually $400-500 a month some are cheaper. Renting houses I has no clue.

MAn this is quite the decision folks lol....All of you are very convincing! The only time I have been to Florida is for fishing trips! I have done offshore and fished inshore piers ect. ASh you love florida I can tell! Im also in the delima of moving the 800 miles to cali or 2300 to florida! I will be renting a place with my gf and I will be on a low budget! Im looking at apartment or duplx/triplex. As for jobs I want something that will work with my schedule well im in school. Good thing is classes run from 3-8pm or 6-12noon so that will give me plenty of time for a job and th g will also be working! I have done a little bit of everything so im not looking for that amazing job well in school haha. Right now im more set on cali due to climate and things to do! But really never have lived eaither place and feel I need more info! I have been doing plenty of research but the best info I can get is from people with first hand experience! Another delima is tanks will I be able to take a 350gallon and a few others to either place and have the landlorads approve?

Yes I love FL, if I moved it could only be to somewhere more tropical or like FL lol. Well I am on a pretty low budget and live with the bf our rent is $560 (with insurance) for a 1/1 and I have 4 tanks and 2 110gal ponds that are in the works. On top of that we have internet, electric and water and if you manage it correctly it is affordable. I like where I live, but I am in Tampa now. I liked Orlando a lot better and there is plenty to do there. You should be able to find a place that you and you'r girlfriend can afford easily there. As for the tanks, some apartments will allow them you just need to call and ask if they do and what size limit they have, make sure you tell them you want a bottom floor. Some will allow it and some have size limits - like I have a size limit of 75gal inside but no limit on the screened in patio. I am sure that goes for a lot of places though. We def. have duplexes here which may also be affordable I never really checked into it. Some people will rent out there houses cheap also if you look around. As for a job, like I said I can give you the sites for where I work, very flexiable and depending upon where you go the pay is enough to be able to afford to to pay rent and stuff, if you lifeguard (they give you the free training and pay you for it) like I did you can easily get 30-40hours a week. I like my weather here =] I cant speak for Cali cuse I have never been there. If there is anything more specific you want to know you can always pm me.

While renting a 1/1 divided house, my rent was $550 downtown. When they came to do a property inspection they saw my tanks and the guy was more excited about the 180g than concerned about pets. That all depends on your landlord or company, I never saw the same person twice so it never became an issue.
