Looks very nice! Its a hassle to move rays for sure, when i did it i set up a 550 gallon pond,preheated, moved rays and filters and done, was a nice option for me atleast!

Looks like you have a "superspot" motoro going on.. I love the variety you have, nice collection for sure!

Quite interesting to see the pattern change on her. Didnt start to change till she was around 10" (thats why I asked about superspots awhile back). Before the change, she was a normal triple spot. Maybe nothing, but keeping my fingers crossed.

Where did you move that was 2 hours away? Reading how you moved them in tubs and can only imagine how fun that was. Bagging them is the way to go. Less water means lighter boxes and and no mess.

Maybe I wrote something wrong...only moved across town not 2 hrs away. The rays were in the 30 gal plastic trash cans for 12 hrs though. Do you think large bags filled with oxygen/water would have been easier on em for that amount of time?

Yes it would be easier on them because being bagged up the pH drops keeping the ammonia non toxic.

Wouldn't it be easier though to do them in a tub since during this time frame you could monitor and add fresh water on a regular basis. I mean when you seal them in a bag then open the bag doesn't the ammonia instantly become much more toxic ones exposed to the fresh O2? I am not disputing or arguing just throwing that out there as to clarify for myself and others. In case I ever have to make a move as such. (Hoping never)

All I know is if done right a ray can live in a closed bag for up to 36 hours where your only concern is keeping them warm enough. If you are moving and have a lot you are trying to do at one time then why add the stress of worrying if you water parameters are going to poo. If you tub them then you add stress to yourself and added stress to the ray. Kind of like buying a fish from the fish store. There is a reason they don't put the fish in a bowl and send you on your way. They put them in bags with O2 because they want the fish to stay calm and in good water while you transport. The ammonia does begin to spike when you open the bag but it is not instant and when you open the bags you are done with your move and now have time to attend to the rays. I am not saying either way is wrong I just know which way I would do it.

Hmm...adding water would have been a smart idea. Didn't think to do that.
