I had to move 3 10 gallon tanks in the fall for the first time. I did it by draining a majority of the water out of all of them (Left the fish inside), and then just did it like that. All of the fish and plants survived!
I woudnt do that with any tank. Ive always emptied them completely and put fish into rubbermaids...tons of threads on this so try a search.
Ive done the across town move and moves that took hours..never lost a fish moving, just be as quick and stress free as you can

I dont think youd find many ppl here who would/could move tanks with water and the amount needed for fish in it. Doesnt make any sense to me but

put all fish into container , and move .... its in the same town. There is also a good thread on a guy who had to move his fish really far. Search the threads
