Janaway said in ST:Voyager, the best way to understand time travel is don't.

Did you see that episode of Outer limits where a lady went to the past to stop Hitler? She went back to when he was a baby, she became his nanny and was planning on killing him, but decided to swap him with another baby. She then returned to her time to find that nothing had changed. As it turned out, the other baby was really the Hitler that controlled Germany. Thus she was the one that caused it.

the lady should've just killed the baby then. I wonder what would've happened then?

now that I think of it, I guess in some movies, even in Terminator, you can't change the outcome. No matter how much you go back in time, like to prevent a death, like in the movie Time Machine, it happens anyways in another way. so it didn't matter who Jon Connar's dad was, he will still be the guy to save mankind

but then, if that was the case, why send anyone back in time to try to change anything if it won't make a difference?

I think the Gremlins thing is lunar. So where you are in the world doesnt really matter. You could technically continue travelling to try and "outrun" the moon and he could continue to eat at his leisure. But then again, they never said when you could start feeding him again did they?:nilly:
The moon isn't always out at night. It's a cycle. It's out during the day half the time, too.

You really cant expect time travel plots to make sense. The main plot hole to me was why did they send another terminator back years later when John was more capable of defending himself? Why not go farther back and kill Sarah earlier, or send them to same time so the T1000 showed up to help the original model.

well, in the third Terminator movie, they said the machines were having a hard time locating Jon so they started going after his future top ranking soldiers including his wife. so I figured that's why they can't go back and find Sarah at an earlier time.

But I agree about why they didn't send the newer terminator(s) to aid previous terminators.

and I always felt the terminator from part 2 can beat up the first and second terminator

In Back to the Future 3 when they find Docs tombstone it says erected by his beloved Clara, but if Marty hadnt gone back in time to save him, Doc wouldnt have been in the desert to save Clara, therefor she wouldve been dead before they ever met.
